Add ons

Firefox add ons can be very helpful and fun, and everything in between.  The one I installed is called Destroy the Web. When you click on it, you will be able to click everything on the page to destroy it, and you get points for everything you destroy.  There is such a different variety to choose from.  You can search one if you are looking for a specific one, or choose one from a category or a popular tag.  They show them from recently added, top downloads, and top rated.  So if you look at those, you'll be able to browse and/or choose from the many popular ones.  As you can see to the left, -------------->

 there are all of the categories, and how many are in those certain categories.

Most likely, you will be able to choose the exact one you want.

Favicon

Favicons are little pictures that are put in place to the left of the url.  There are many to choose from.  You can create your own, or you can choose from one created by a different person.  Usually on blogger, there is a little white B, but now on my blog I've changed it to stars.  There are many websites to pick from to get your own Favicon.  Then all you have to do is copy and paste a url.  It's way simple. 

TOOLS

I love having a background for my blog.  There are so many different styles to choose from.  One site that is very useful is www.thecutestblogontheblock.com.  On that site, you can choose from a bunch of categories on the side, or you can type a keyword in to find a style of your choice.  Then when you find one that you want, you just copy the html and then paste it in the gadget section of your blogger.  Other useful blog background sites that I found were www.blogblings.com and www.hotbliggityblog.com

Domain

Domains are the address to the website.  Such as google.com or facebook.com.  Or other sites with different endings, like .gov, .net, .org, and so on and so on.  For the domain, there can only be one, you cannot have the same domain twice.  I got to look through GoDaddy.com and see all of the domains and available to use.  You can type what domain you want and see if it is available.  There is also an auction list of all of the domains you can buy.  I found one as cheap as $5 and one expensive as $350,00.

Google Products

All of the google tools are really useful. There is google maps.  It allows you to get directions to where ever you are going.  You can also find out what kind of traffic is running through the area. There is different kind of ways you can view the map.  If you click and drag the little person to where ever you want, you will be able to see and look through real pictures of the road or town. There is also a satellite view where you can see the area from above. 

Another useful tool is google news.  It shows all of the latest top stories.  Or you can click on a category and see the news there too. Or see your news locally in your area. Next is google translate.  If you want to know how to say something in a different language, google translate is the best and it's easy to use.  All you have to do type something in the language of your knowledge, and choose what language you want it to be translated to. If you click on the button right where it says listen, it will say what you have made into the other language.  The last one I'm going to be talking about is google books. You can search up a book that you will be able to read all of it or some of it. There are also magazines in google books.  So you can search magazines and be able to read them too.  There are all sorts of topics of books to choose from. Google has so many tools and products to use.  So I would suggest to go and look through them all on Google!

iGoogle

iGoogle is a page that you can customize with anything of your choice. There are games like Tetris, Super Mario, Snake, Frogger, and many others. There is pretty much anything you can think of, that you can add. On mine I have games, news, date and time, quotes, and random facts.  You can make more than one page, and pick which one you want to use.  It's really nifty and easy to use.

Histats

Histats is a website that tracks all of the people that view your page.  It's really neat because it shows you where the people are that viewed your blog.  They could be on the other side of the country or on the other side of the world.  On my blog, I have a counter to show how many people view my blog daily, and how many have viewed my blog all together. You can also choose what type of counter you want to fit your preferences or fit to your blog.

Gadgets

I love the huge selection of gadgets on blogger.  There are thousands of gadgets to choose from.  There are games, quotes, clocks, and neat little virtual pets.  You can also search a  specific one that you are looking for by typing it in the search box.  The gadgets are a really fun part about blogger, I would suggest checking them out, choose wisely!

Tagxedo!

Word Clouds

Word Clouds are really fun to make because you can put any words you want in them.  You can get them from a song, a poem or anything else that you want.  In some sites like Tagxedo, you can arrange the words so they are in a shape of your choice, and the end result turns out really cool.  Another one like Wordle, you can make one specific word or words stand out out of all the rest of them.  My personal favorite is Wordle.  Because it's really fun and easy to use.

Now we are starting to use word clouds.  Image chef allows you to put words into random pictures or shapes.  It's cool that you can put any word or picture in it that you want.  The mosaic part is probably my favorite. 

Club Penguin!

Club Penguin is a virtual world.  You join free or pay and become a member.  You customize the color for your penguin and dress it up.  There are rooms that you go into.  In the rooms you can play games to earn coins, or you can waddle around and talk to other penguins.  If you are a member there are a lot more options for your penguin and its igloo. You can get a big igloo and put a bunch of cool furniture in it and invite your fellow penguin friends to come over.  Club Penguin!

Faviki

In faviki it pretty much combines wikipedia and social bookmarking.  you can bookmark pages using wikipedia terms, and everyone uses the same name for tags.  It's also cool because it sorts all of your tags automatically.  Faviki

Delicious

Another cool bookmarking site we looked at was Delicious.  Delicious allows you to save something you want and you can keep it private or you can allow other people to see it too.  It is very helpful, especially if you like to bookmark a lot of websites. Delicious

Diigo

Diigo is a really useful site to use.  It is very helpful for research and for projects..  You can highlight pictures and text and it goes straight to your diigo library.  Or you can add sticky notes to any  website.  www.diigo.com

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a cool social bookmarking site to use.  It allows you to have the websites that you want on it.  It already has some on there like Youtube, Facebook, etc.  You can add and delete the ones you want.  It is a really simple and useful site. www.symbaloo.com

Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking is a cool thing to use.  You can save any link or any other thing you want easily.  You can save it publicly and tag them with keywords.  Then they people that are following you can see what you have saved.  The tags are pretty helpful.  The allow people to find exactly what they are looking for in just one or more keywords.  Social bookmarking would be a great for working on a project.  It's easy to just save a site and have it handy for when you want to use it.  Sites like Symbaloo, Delicious, and Diigo are social bookmarking sites.

Meez Rooms

I created my own meez room.  I can invite anyone I want into my meez room.  It's really fun and I love having it.

MEEZ

The Meez avatars are really cool.  I love all of the customization, making your meez look however you want it.  You can go into rooms walk around, dance, sit, and chat with your friends.  You can also make customize your own room and invite people into it.  It's really fun to play with. www.meez.com

Avatars

Using avatars is fun.  You can customize them how over you like.  There are many websites on different styles of avatars.  It's fun to be able to change the background too, and also being able to use your own voice to make them talk.  You can make them say anything and then you can email it to whoever you want.  It's really cool.

How I Currently Use Social Media

I use social media by using facebook, twitter, and skype.  By being on facebook, it allows me to talk to a lot of different people on chat.  On twitter, i can text anything I want and send it to twitter.  The people who follow me will get it sent to either their phones or their twitter accounts.  By using skype, I can video chat with friends, and also have group chats with a bunch of people.
